WELL Health Clinic Network Inc. (“WELL”), a subsidiary of WELL Health Technologies Corp., a digital healthcare company focused on improving health outcomes through technology, announced a significant expansion of its Canadian clinic network. Through an agreement with Shoppers Drug Mart Inc. (Shoppers), WELL has acquired all primary care medical clinics operated by Shoppers under “The Health Clinic by Shoppers™ brand.

This acquisition brings 10 new clinics to the WELL network, with four located in British Columbia and six in Ontario. These clinics boast a team of over 35 physicians, significantly bolstering WELL’s presence in key Canadian provinces. Following the acquisition’s completion, these clinics will be seamlessly integrated into the WELL network and rebranded under the WELL Clinic banner.

“We are pleased to welcome the clinical and medical teams from The Health Clinic by Shoppers™ to the WELL primary care family in British Columbia and Ontario” stated Dr. Michael Frankel, Chief Medical Officer and President of Canadian Clinics for WELL Health. “We will continue to ensure that these locations support optimal patient outcomes.”

Beyond simply adding physical locations, WELL plans to leverage its expertise to further enhance these clinics. Their “Clinic Absorption” program will streamline the onboarding process, while the dedicated “Clinic Transformation Team” will focus on strategic improvements. This includes optimizing cost structures, integrating digital workflows, and implementing advanced patient engagement technologies.

Furthermore, WELL plans to introduce its suite of AI-powered tools, including WELL AI Voice, WELL AI Inbox Admin, and WELL AI Decision Support systems, to these newly acquired clinics. These innovations aim to empower healthcare professionals and ultimately enhance patient care delivery. Additionally, WELL intends to ramp up physician recruitment efforts at these locations, fostering a broader reach and even greater impact on patient care across the communities they serve.

The acquisition is expected to contribute approximately $8 million in annual revenue to WELL, solidifying their position as a leading player in Canada’s digital healthcare landscape. This move signifies WELL’s commitment to expanding its reach and providing patients with improved access to high-quality, technology-driven healthcare services.
