Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ashley Holmstrom as its new Chief Nursing Officer, effective April 1, 2024. Dr. Holmstrom brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to this critical role.

Holmstrom most recently served as Chief Nursing Officer at Abrazo West and Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Center, a Level I regional trauma center in Arizona. Prior to that, she held leadership positions at Medical City Frisco in Texas and, closer to home, served as Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan from 2018 to 2020.

Her accomplishments during her previous tenure at Abrazo are a testament to her leadership abilities. Holmstrom implemented initiatives that demonstrably reduced nursing turnover, improved communication with staff, and fostered engagement through shared governance structures. These efforts ultimately led to improved patient care.

Dr. Holmstrom’s commitment extends beyond leadership. She possesses a passion for mentoring and has guided over 15 doctorate and masters-prepared nursing leaders. Her belief in developing and investing in people aligns perfectly with the values of Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan.

“I am thrilled to welcome back an incredible person to our organization,” said Greg Seiler, Chief Executive Officer of Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan. “Her return marks a significant moment for our Metropolitan nursing team and I have no doubt her expertise and dedication will contribute to the great work we do here.”

Dr. Holmstrom’s impressive academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baylor University, a Master of Science in Nursing, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice, all earned from Walden University. She holds board certifications as both a Nurse Executive and Professional Development Leader from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

With Dr. Holmstrom at the helm, Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan is well-positioned to continue its dedication to delivering exceptional patient care with a highly-skilled and engaged nursing team.
