SCAN Group, a leading diversified non-profit healthcare organization known for its flagship SCAN Health Plan, one of the nation’s largest Medicare Advantage providers, announced the appointment of Rona Li as its new Corporate Vice President, Corporate Development Operating Partner.
Li brings a wealth of experience in fostering growth and innovation within the healthcare sector. In her new role, she will work collaboratively with SCAN’s leadership team to oversee and propel the continued success of the organization’s portfolio companies. These companies – Welcome Health, Homebase Medical, Healthcare in Action, and myPlace Health – represent a diverse array of healthcare services tailored to meet the specific needs of seniors and vulnerable populations.
Welcome Health offers geriatric-focused primary care services directly to older adults in their homes, both in-person and virtually. Homebase Medical provides vital in-home care, encompassing palliative care, chronic disease management, and personalized health assessments. Healthcare in Action, a street-based medical group, offers comprehensive care to individuals experiencing homelessness, including behavioral health interventions, substance use disorder treatment, housing assistance, and ongoing support. Finally, myPlace Health leverages the PACE model (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) to provide integrated care services to seniors.
Li’s responsibilities extend beyond simply overseeing these companies. She will spearhead efforts to identify untapped growth opportunities and foster collaboration across the portfolio. This collaborative spirit aims to unlock further innovation within the healthcare landscape, ultimately addressing some of the most pressing challenges faced by seniors and at-risk populations.
“We are excited to have Rona in this role as she brings extensive experience in developing early-stage companies into successful operations,” expressed Dr. Sachin H. Jain, CEO of both SCAN Group and SCAN Health Plan. “Our portfolio companies have achieved significant milestones, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to continuous improvement and growth as we innovate care for the people we serve.”
Li’s enthusiasm for SCAN Group’s mission shines through. “SCAN’s mission resonates so deeply with me,” she shared. “I look forward to the opportunity to connect strategic assets and functions across SCAN and to further our mission to keep seniors healthy and independent and create value for those we serve.”
Prior to joining SCAN Group, Li honed her expertise in early-stage venture development and innovation. She possesses a keen eye for identifying opportunities within established organizations navigating a complex and evolving market. At Redesign Health, Li spearheaded the deployment of over $56 million in funding, facilitating the creation and growth of 14 new companies. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in establishing the organization’s strategic sales and partnership approach. Li’s experience also includes a stint at BCG Digital Ventures, where she collaborated with Fortune 500 companies in the healthcare, energy, and hospitality sectors to develop, scale, and invest in novel business ventures.
With Li’s proven track record and unwavering commitment to improving healthcare access and outcomes for seniors and vulnerable populations, SCAN Group is poised to further its mission-driven growth and solidify its position as a leader in innovative healthcare delivery.
